And the DAC is also a QuteHD.īut since my previous computer, a Macbook Pro also running Yosemite, was working pretty flawlessly with Chord's driver, I decided at first that the problem should be with the player, Audirvana Plus 2 (because the other upgrade I did at the same time was moving from A+ 1.5.10 to A+ 2.09).

I experienced exactly the same: pops, skips and stoppages plaguing the music played through Chord's driver for Mavericks installed on a new 2014 Mac mini on Yosemite.

Hope they come out with Yosemite drivers soon to address the issue. I emailed Chord, but am getting little response. If I switch output to headphone jack and back again to the DAC the music plays smoothly, but after a few minutes the skips & pops return. When listening via USB after about 45 minutes or so I eventually encounter skips when listening via iTunes or Spotify.

I got a Mac Mini, but the latest drivers for the Chordette Qute HD are Mavericks. Is anyone else having issues with Chord DACs on Yosemite? My old windows server died so I needed to upgrade. I've been using the Snow Leopard machine without issue since I first got the Nano. I might try to see if the retailer will do it, even if it's billable time. It's just that it will take a very long time to find someone and line it up (I know, sounds lame). And since installing 10.2, the Nano now regularly shows up in Prefs it just won't play, or play without extreme distortion. I understand the upgrade, even if I'm not confident it will fix the issue. I might not have expressed myself clearly. This of course assuming your DAC is fully USB powered on well charged. Thanks YashN. So, I highly recommend that you upgrade your firmware. This could mean something hardware related either on your Mac or your DAC or jsut a firmware issue for the DAC which has been solved since (there was one thing about USB3 compatibility on some machine). I have seen other issues like the DAC stuck with the latest upgrade (I used v4.06 of the Micro on the Nano), but not this one. On the other hand, that the DAC doesn't appear in Preferences is an odd problem. I don't think there's a specific issue with Yosemite, so it shouldn't be Apple's to fix. It is only the upgrade process that is supposed to be done only via a Windows machine.

Instructions: - Choose and Press download button for your device. The upgrades aren't geared for Windows, the upgrades will matter for the DAC both in Windows and Mac and even Linux. After installation look for howtouse.txt file for feature list and other useful instructions. All files has been included in one click installation file.
